Since first hitting our pages earlier this spring, Y-3’s Kaiwa silhouette has dropped in a range of color schemes, with a new variation recently added to the line’s growing roster. Last spotted rocking a bold red motif, the new rendition makes creative use of black and white all throughout its statement construction.
Premium grain leather dresses a good portion of the upper, while a touch of suede found on the tongue tab adds textural contrast, contributing to the model’s high-fashion appeal. Foam protrusions landing on the midsole adds visual weight to the shoe’s surprisingly-light makeup, while the interior bespoke sockliner ensures a secure lockdown fit. Lastly, signature branding found on the tongue, heel and lateral side sole sculpture does well to add a complementary layer of artistic depth.
