XXXTentacion Confessed to Domestic Abuse in Newly Discovered Recordings

XXXTentacion’s domestic abuse allegations were just as well known as his music, but he’d always denied them, Now a secretly recorded tape has surfaced, which has the rapper admitting to the crimes he was accused of. The tape was believed to have been made around the time of his October 8, 2016 arrest and he’s heard saying the following:

“I put my source of happiness in another person, which was a mistake initially, right? But she fell through on every occasion until now. Until I started fucking her up bruh. I started fucking her up because she made one mistake. And from there, the whole cycle went down. Now she’s scared. That girl is scared for her life. Which I understand.” He later went onto say “I will kill that bitch if she play with me.”

Pitchfork obtained the recordings from the Miami-Made County state attorney’s office and according to them, the prosecution and defence considered the tape a confession. The cases against the rapper, real name Jahseh Onfroy, were closed after his death. In addition to the domestic abuse confession, he also talked about a stabbing incident in Deerfield Beach, Florida, saying: “I’m on [Miami] New Times for stabbing, how many people they put in the news? They said three, it was eight.”

The incident took place on January 21, 2016 and was reported by a local Florida newspaper. No one was charged for the incident, although a witness “saw an unknown black male with tattoos on his face swinging a knife in multiple directions.” In the tape, XXXTentacion mentions these acts as a reason for his ex-girlfriends fear, saying “She’s seen this shit, she know.”

He also went on to speak to an unidentified man about the violent things he’s seen and how they’ve impacted his behaviour. “You ever seen somebody get their tongue cut out? … You ever seen somebody get raped? … You ever seen somebody try to kill your mom in front of you? Every night you go to sleep and you remember what you seen and you remember how it felt and you remember that horrible feeling in your soul. Nobody can comfort you. It’s something I gotta deal with.”
