Nipsey Hussle, Dom Kennedy & Belly Tell a Love Story for "Double Up" Video
An “autobiographical narrative.”
Towards the beginning of this year, Nipsey Hussle released his long-awaited Victory Lap album. Now, several months after February’s video for “Hussle and Motivate,” Nipsey Hussle reconnects with Dom Kennedy and Belly for the official “Double Up” clip.
“We wanted to expand on the idea of [the song] by telling a story of an abandoned love affair between a young hustler and his girl,” Hussle explained to Billboard, breaking down the concepts behind the “Double Up” visual. “The lifestyle ends up being too much for the girl and she leaves unexpectedly. Years later, the young hustler ends up fully legit and successful and runs into the girl and that interaction is where the story continues. The narrative is autobiographical.”
Nipsey Hussle’s “Double Up” video was directed by Sergio, while Emmanuelle Cuny stepped in to serve as its commissioner. You can check the clip for “Double Up” above.
Next up, a Nipsey Hussle and YG joint-album might be on the way.
