Nike Kobe 1 Protro "Varsity Purple" Makes a Comeback This Month

Kobe Bryant‘s legacy continues to live on through his signature footwear. After news surfaced that his Nike Kobe 1 Protro “USA” would be returning soon, its “Varsity Purple” edition will make a well-deserved comeback this month. Before the model’s inaugural retro, Kobe and Nike made sure to upgrade it with 2018 technology to prepare it for today’s type of gameplay. As a result, we’ve seen players such as DeMar DeRozan wear the pair on court. The forthcoming release sees the aforementioned purple on each medial side in suede with black leather on the rest of the upper. Carbon fiber is added to the midsole while the ankle entry incorporates an exposed loop to remove excess weight and provide easier entry and exit.
The Nike Kobe 1 Protro “Varsity Purple” hits shelves on October 23 for $175 USD at select Nike Basketball retailers, Nike.com and Nike SNKRS.
