New York's Moody Streets Backdrop rag & bone's New Eyewear Collection
“I wear my sunglasses at night.”

Following its Carmelo Anthony x Air Jordan capsule, fashion label rag & bone continues its partnership with Italian luxury eyewear manufacturer Safilo Group for its latest collection of frames. Debuted in Spring/Summer 2018 and conceptualized at Safilo’s NYC design studio, the new range fuses “British heritage with a modern and edgy New York attitude.”
Paired with the New York-based label’s holiday garments, the Hemingway, Felix, Phantom and Hale glasses possess a vintage characteristic that is complemented by high-quality functionality. Every component of each piece is fashioned to reflect the unique design direction of the two brands, along with their proclivity for craftsmanship, all while harking back to the aesthetic pillars of the British, Americana, military and sport. The lenses are polarized, and the implementation of the TORX six-point screw-head hinge system is included to create greater ease for customizing the fit while prolonging their lifetime and acetate. rag & bone’s five daggers motif is embedded throughout the selection to add nuanced embellishments.
Elevating the offering, the lookbook thematically expands on the capsule’s retro elements. Backdropped within the dark, lampost-lit streets of NYC, lighting is directed to give the imagery a moody, cinematic quality. Styling that utilizes loose tailoring — alongside streetwear staples — further pushes the nostalgic narrative while adding a tinge of the contemporary.
