Charlamagne Tha God has announced that he has canceled his upcoming talk with Kanye West, which was due to take place on October 17 as part of New York Times TimesTalks. The talk was to be focused around mental health, with Charlamagne had “really wanted to have with Kanye because he’s been so vocal about his own mental health struggles.”

In a statement posted to Instagram, Charlamagne added that he thinks “to have that conversation with him right now would not be productive and a total distraction from the point of the convo, which is to eradicate the stigma of mental health especially in the black community.” There is no news on whether or not the talk will be rescheduled.

In related news, adidas’ CEO recently explained why he can shrug off Kanye’s erratic behavior.
