Acne Studios Celebrate the Life & Legacy of Johnny Winter With New Capsule
Releasing alongside one-off pieces from the musician’s archive.

After collaborating with Fjällräven earlier this year, Swedish label Acne Studios is back with a capsule dedicated to the late musician Johnny Winter. The collection was designed in homage to select pieces from Winter’s personal archive, with items chosen to reflect his idiosyncratic aesthetic and persona.
Key pieces include dark rinse jeans with studs along the outer seams, as well as VE pocket jeans in a deep burgundy velvet. The collection also includes outerwear such as a duck egg blue varsity jacket and a studded denim jacket, as well as tailored shirts and T-shirts bearing the Johnny Winter name.
Discussing the collection, Acne Studios creative director Jonny Johansson explained that “a part of the Acne Studios DNA has always been about exploring different creative branches in order to add a layer onto fashion. I like making isolated endeavours into something else, looking at my job from a different perspective, mixing creative disciplines. This project, which is a tribute to Johnny Winter, allows for another way of looking at fashion and design, it opens my mindset.”
The Johnny Winter Project collection is available from the Acne Studios web store and select physical locations now. As well as the capsule, a number of one-off pieces from Winter’s personal archive are also available online. Proceeds from the sales will go to the Johnny Winter Foundation for the Arts, a charity dedicated to Winter’s life and legacy.
