Medicom Toy Celebrates Chinese New Year With Gold-Plated R@BBRICK
Good luck for the new year.

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Medicom Toy taps one of its unconventional models: the R@BBRICK. Unlike the brand’s usual B@RBRICK, this figure boasts large rabbit ears and a small tail.
Emblazoned with the face of a Daruma, a Japanese Buddhist doll, the figure is offered in both 100% and 400% iterations. Gold plating grants the figure a luxurious, bold appearance, appropriate for the celebration, and recalls traditional figurines made from real gold. Both sizes of the figure feature the Chinese character for blessings and luck appears on the torso, but each offers slightly different face.
The figure launches January 23 at Medicom Toy’s outpost in Tokyo’s Skytree Town. Medicom Toy recently issued another figure to celebrate the new year, featuring the Japanese character Peko as a maneki-neko.
