Watch Tyler, the Creator and Comedian Jerrod Carmichael's Hour-Long Conversation About 'Flower Boy'
His first in-depth conversation about his critically-acclaimed LP.
With his new collaborative footwear and apparel line with Converse taking off lately, Tyler, the Creator is now getting back to the music with his first in-depth conversation about his Grammy-nominated 2017 album (which was also featured on our Top 10 Albums/Mixtapes of 2017 feature), Flower Boy. Joined by comedian Jerrod Carmichael, the fascinating hour-long chat, simply dubbed “Flower Boy: A Conversation,” saw the two dissecting the highly-acclaimed LP for an hour, going over the collaborations, strings, melodies, emotions and everything involved in creating the 14-track masterpiece.
During the sit-down, it was revealed that one of the main inspirations for Flower Boy was pop music: after Tyler hit up a club (something he doesn’t enjoy) with Taco, he was mesmerized at people’s reactions towards certain records.
