Justin Bieber Is Getting a Hometown Museum Exhibit
In Stratford, Canada.
Canadian superstar Justin Bieber will be receiving a big honor from his home town of Stratford, Ontario: his very own museum exhibit. Titled “Steps to Stardom” — a reference to the young singer’s busking shows on the steps outside the local Avon Theatre — the display will be filled with Bieber memorabilia from his formative years as an aspiring Canadian singer including trinkets, old T-shirts, hockey jerseys, sneakers, and microphones. More recent items such as his GRAMMY, Emmy and Teen Choice awards, personal letters including one from Michelle Obama, and his platinum record for his debut LP, My World, will also be on display.
About 125 items of interest were collected and will be narrowed down to between 50 and 75 pieces for display. After that, the ongoing exhibit will be refreshed with new items as time passes. The exhibit was put together by the museum’s curators in co-operation with Bieber’s grandparents, Diane and Bruce Dale, who gave them access to an extensive archive of items from the performer’s childhood and career.
The museum’s general manager, John Kastner told the local newspaper that these items come via Bieber’s own vault. “We started the conversation and they went back and forth with (his management) in Atlanta and Justin, and we got approval and then we started to go through the inventory of items they had,” Kastner confirmed with The Herald.
If you fancy yourself a trip to Stratford, Ontario, you’ll be able to visit “Steps to Stardom” starting February 18.
