Bandulu Street Couture & Converse Honor Boston's Youth and the Celtics
Handstitched salutes to family.
Boston’s Bandulu Street Couture is once again joining forces with Converse on a collaborative array of hand-stitched Chuck Taylor All Star 70 sneakers and clothing. This time, the label’s hometown pride takes center stage.
The collection’s lookbook stars local youth from the Boys and Girls Club and Boston-based rapper Cousin Stizz all wearing the three-leaf clover embroidered sneakers. All hand-numbered pairs of parchment black 70s feature the hand-stitched patches and colorful thread detailing, with only 46 pairs to go around (commemorating the 1946 formation of the Celtics). A selection of reworked clothing from Converse Essentials is also on hand, boasting “Bandulu Street Couture 18” printed on the rear.
Look for the limited collection to release on January 5 at Sneakeasy Boston ranging in price from $40-160 USD. In the meantime, new colorways of Tyler, The Creator‘s much lauded Golf le Fleur Converse have surfaced.
