Netflix's 'Altered Carbon' Gets a Proper Full-Length Trailer
The streaming service’s next big budget effort.
A new trailer has dropped for Netflix‘s upcoming tech dystopian noir series Altered Carbon. Based off of Richard K. Morgan’s sci-fi novel of the same name, the series takes place in a world where humans have developed a technology that allows for someone to transfer their consciousness from one body to another.
After being murdered, Earth’s richest man, Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), hires an ex-soldier to track down Bancroft’s own death. Although there have been a couple trailers delving into the mystery and overall world in which the series is set, the trailer above delves into the show’s complex story and themes alongside the cyberpunk aesthetics it adheres to.
Joel Kinnaman, who will be playing protagonist Takeshi Kovacs, describes the series as “a world that’s got a bigger budget than the first three seasons of Game of Thrones.” This looks to be Netflix’s next big budget endeavor following the premiere of the first installment of its blockbuster franchise Bright.
