Rapsody Releases "Power" Featuring Kendrick Lamar & Lance Skiiiwalker
Roc Nation’s femme fatale kills it.
If this soulful 9th Wonder produced rumination on the aspects of power and authority is a glimpse of what is to come, then bring on Rapsody’s Laila’s Wisdom. With her album set to drop in a few hours, Rapsody sets the standard with “Power” — a heady hip-hop track that features none other than K. Dot and Lance Skiiiwalker.
Discussing everything from black female power to the delusional sway of wielding a gun, the new Roc Nation artist brings some serious lyricism to the table. When backed up by Kendrick Lamar doing Kendrick Lamar things and Skiiiwalker on the hook, the result is a complete “deconstruction of power” founded upon neat rhymes and a tight flow.
“Power” is our first taste of Rapsody’s Laila’s Wisdom which also promises features from Black Thought, Anderson.Paak, Musiq Soulchild, Busta Rhymes, Terrace Martin and more. You can pre-order the entire project on iTunes and listen to “Power” in the video above.
In case you’ve missed it, listen to a snippet of A$AP Rocky’s unreleased “Wok” single.
