The Nike Tanjun Is America's Best-Selling Sneaker
Mom’s favorite.

Funnily enough, Silicon Valley’s most popular shoe can’t even hold a candle to the chart-topping sneaker in America right now. As unstylish as it may seem compared to a Virgil Abloh collaboration, Nike’s Tanjun sneaker is the best-selling model in the USA as per NPD Group’s Matt Powell. The seasoned analyst told GQ that the $65 USD “mom shoe” first became popular in 2015 and it’s still dominating the market despite it being only available in women’s sizes.
The low-top model was inspired by the notorious Roshe runner, featuring a snug lacing system alongside a cushioned sole—a tame design formula that’s an easy eye-grabber for all the moms and local-shoppers out there. Yet, an abomination for those in the menswear spectrum. You can thank Four Pins for that.
A simple makeup, an affordable price, and easy distribution are apparently the makings of a number one shoe in the 50 states. Do you agree or disagree? Sound off in the comments section below.
