The Jean Jullien X OLOW "Club Dimanche" Collection Is an Ode to Lazy Sundays
How do you enjoy spending your Sundays?
Following their summertime-ready 2015 capsule, french artist Jean Jullien and his fellow countrymen at OLOW unveil their latest joint effort for Fall 2017. “Club Dimanche” (Sunday Club) takes inspiration for the restful day of Sunday and the various ways we all seem enjoy it, be it lounging around, brunching with friends, walking the dog, or taking long, improvised siestas.
Jean, a longtime resident of London, can’t help but feel a slight tinge of nostalgia when reminiscing about French
Sundays.
“I grew up kind of hating Sundays in France where everything closes. The town would just shut down. That ghost-town vibe mortified me. I have been living in England for eleven years now, so I only have distant memories of those
infamous French Sundays. Everywhere stays open on a Sunday, here… But I do feel nostalgic for those days when everything stops, when the repetition that characterizes the week so well just ceases.”
“Club Dimanche” mixes casual wardrobe staples with a muted color palette and Jullien’s lighthearted, humorous illustrations. The result is a range of pieces that will appeal to any lover of Sundays, from the coach potatoes, to those daytime partygoers.
The Jean Jullien x OLOW “Club Dimanche” capsule collection will be available starting September 13 at www.olow.fr.
