Raf's Calvin Klein 2018 Spring/Summer Show Taps Cowboy Boots, Americana & Horror Films
Western shirts, cowboy boots and an eerie horror-style track stealing the show.

Fresh off the New York Fashion Week runway, Raf Simons presented his highly anticipated sophomore collection for Calvin Klein. The star-studded front row included the likes of Millie Bobby Brown, Iris Apfel and Russell Westbrook, just to name a few, while key industry veterans flocked en masse for one of NYFW’s biggest highlights.
The collection itself was an eclectic fusion of varying styles, patterns, prints and accessories. A seamless transition from his 2017 fall presentation, Simons once again drew influences from western Americana, with a bevy of two-toned western shirts and metal-tipped cowboy boots put on full display.
On a set designed by longtime collaborator Sterling Ruby, models strutted to a synth-heavy horror flick-tinged soundtrack (including score samples from The Exorcist and A Nightmare on Elm Street), evoking a surreal “American Nightmare” vibe not dissimilar to his 2016 fall/winter Twin Peaks-inspired show.
Standout pieces include waxy denim jackets accented with abstract paint splatter, patchwork knits, a barrage of carryall items, plaid suits and an Andy Warhol Foundation collaboration that featured graphic T-shirts, bags and dresses with some of the artist’s more eerie works.
