See All the Pieces From Raf Simons' Calvin Klein 2017 Fall/Winter Collection

“American Classics” comes alive.

Raf Simons pulled out all the stops for his debut show with Calvin Klein. His strategic moves prior to the presentation have been well-documented, but seeing everything come into fruition further proved that the ambitious designer is willing to go above and beyond.

Firstly, the show’s set was designed by artist Sterling Ruby, a longtime friend of Raf Simons whom he also often collaborates with. In attendance were a slew of celebrities as well such as A$AP Rocky, Millie Bobby Brown and Sarah Jessica Parker to name a few.

But this is all about the clothes and Raf Simons’ interpretation of Calvin Klein’s sleek American aesthetic. In terms of patterns and color, we see a dynamic mix of eye-catching hues — there’s loud yellows, oranges, pinks and purple that are meant to translate CK’s color-block identity. Suiting came in sharp and loose tailoring, giving room for the brand to experiment with more directional shapes.

All in all, the variety for both men and women is definitely expansive — and this is key for bringing in newer customers to Calvin Klein. Traditional fans will still love the quietly cool vibe of the brand, but for those looking to get more adventurous, they surely won’t be disappointed.
