Undoubtedly the biggest release news of the week has been the first half of Off-White™ designer Virgil Abloh’s ten-part Nike collaboration. After first dropping in New York as part of the “OFF CAMPUS” events, five of the ten sneakers are now also available from the London series of events and will drop soon in Dover Street Market London. But, even putting “THE TEN” aside, the arrival of Supreme’s Hysteric Glamour collaboration and Palace’s third drop of the season made sure that the last seven days of drops were more considerably than a one-horse race.
The upcoming week is also packing heat, however, with the long-awaited arrival of Uniqlo and J.W.Anderson‘s joint collection as well as collaborations from Reebok and Cottweiler, Hanon and New Balance and two new Slam Jam link ups. Other key releases include pieces from Balenciaga, Daily Paper and adidas.
As always, we’ve rounded up all of the best products dropping in Europe over the next seven days, as well as all the information you need to pick them up.
Hanon x New Balance “Fisherman Blues”
For their latest joint venture, America’s New Balance and Aberdeen-based Hanon teamed up for a nautical-themed take on the archive 520 silhouette. Hanon’s home on the Scottish coast is referenced through the sneaker’s tonal blue colorway, as well as the lookbook shot by legendary British photographer Ewen Spencer. The sneakers are available now from the store’s web site, with retail price set at £109 GBP (approx. $150 USD).
A.P.C.’s Transmission Book
To celebrate a milestone 30 years of the cult Parisian label, A.P.C. has unveiled a new book — published by venerated European art and design press Phaidon – looking back at the brand’s history. Transmission is set to tell the story of Jean Touitou‘s brand withinvitations, postcards, ad campaigns and notable collaborations that have benchmarked A.P.C.’s legacy. The book is available now from the Phaidon web store.
Slam City Skates x Dickies
London-based skate store Slam City Skates has teamed up with legendary workwear brand — and wardrobe staple — Dickies on a new capsule collection featuring key skating pieces, with a graphic T-shirt, camouflage trousers and a side bag all included. All of the pieces are available now from Slam City’s web store and physical locations.
Daily Paper x PUMA Fall/Winter 2017
After working together for the first time earlier this year, PUMA has rekindled its collaboration with Amsterdam-based brand Daily Paper for the Fall/Winter 2017 season. This wide-ranging collection includes footwear and apparel, influenced by African football, and celebrates PUMA’s 20-year involvement in soccer across the continent. PUMA’s Fall/Winter 2017 collaboration with Daily Paper is available now from select retailers.
Cottweiler x Reebok Fall/Winter 2017
Hype has been building for Reebok’s collaboration with English brand Cottweiler since it was first unveiled at Pitti Uomo all the way back in January. The collection — which showcases Cottweiler’s signature elevated sportswear — is inspired by a holistic approach to sport aftercare, with the two brands having used manufacturing techniques and materials intended to have a therapeutic effect on the body. The collection is available now from retailers including London’s Machine-A.
The Good Will Out x adidas Consortium
Fresh from announcing more new hook-ups for its sneaker exchange program, adidas Consortium has now teamed up with Cologne-based retailer The Good Will Out for a blacked-out NMD CS1. Coming with a full-length black midsole and three interconnected Primeknit patterns, the sneaker is inspired by Japan’s Shinobi ninjas and features the phrase “The Art of Seeing Through Darkness” in Japanese on the heel tab. This collaboration is available now from The Good Will Out store, and will get a wider release in a week’s time.
J.W.Anderson x Uniqlo Fall/Winter 2017
The much-hyped collaboration between J.W.Anderson and Uniqlo is intended to unite the expertise of the two parties, with Japanese functionality meeting British design. For this collection, the designer has reworked staple pieces — such as trench coats and jeans — while also giving his recognizable take on a whole host of accessories, from bold scarves to low-key bags. The collection is set to drop on September 19 from Uniqlo stores in the UK, before releasing worldwide three days later.
END. x Fracap “Evergreen” M120 Heronimo Boot
Newcastle-based retailer END. has worked with Italian shoemakers Fracap to produce a hiking boot “inspired by the land where humanity and nature collide,” defined by its green soft-suede upper and cushioned Vibram sole. The concept behind the collaborative shoe is to further raise awareness of climate change and its repercussions, with END. describing it as “a product made with social responsibility, the collaboration highlights sustainable consumption and its effect on one of the world’s most important resources.” The “Evergreen” is set to drop on September 20 from END.
Balenciaga “Triple S” Sneaker
Baleciaga’s chunky “Triple S” sneaker is a collage of different influences, with three separate sports — running, basketball and track & field — all incorporated into a single design. Key features of the shoe include the unmistakable bulky soul and a pre-worn aesthetic, all very much in line with the streetwear-meets-fashion-dad aesthetic cultivated at the French house by Demna Gvasalia. The “Triple S” comes in four colorways and will be available from September 21 via the Balenciaga web store.
adidas SPEZIAL Fall/Winter 2017
adidas’ SPEZIAL line is best known for its work with the brand’s archive pieces, and in that respect its Fall/Winter 2017 collection is no different. Featuring reworked sneaker silhouettes — including a Wensley-Samba cross, and apparel pieces such as a lightweight down vest and a full-tracksuit — the latest SPEZIAL offering is an all-encompassing pack of retro-inspired sportswear. The collection is set to drop on September 22 at END. and other select retailers.
Slam Jam x Carhartt WIP “Minute Man Service” Capsule
Following their last collaboration in 2015, Italy’s Slam Jam and Carhartt WIP have reunited for a new capsule inspired by the unlikely muse of 1960s gas station attendants. Slam Jam based the collection on pieces from the extensive Carhartt archive, with a range of workwear pieces available in either black or blue and finished with tonal patches. The collection is set to drop on September 22 at the Slam Jam store in Milan, before hitting select retailers the following day.
Slam Jam x United Arrows x adidas Consortium
The latest instalment in adidas Consortium’s ongoing sneaker exchange sees Italy’s Slam Jam and Japan’s United Arrows & Sons combine for a two-sneaker pack. The drop includes an off-white Gazelle, which comes with the tongue from an adidas Samba, and an all-white Campus – coming with a 100% organic cotton upper and terry cloth touches. The pack is set to be available for pre-sale on September 22 from Slam Jam and United Arrows.
