Skater Tyshawn Jones Reveals First adidas Sneaker With His Name on It
A homage to his deceased dog, Nico.
New York skater Tyshawn Jones unveils the first adidas sneaker — the Pro Model Vulc ADV – barring his name and choice of colorway/material since joining the Three Stripes’ skate team back in 2014. “Super excited” for his latest career milestone, Tyshawn said of his namesake sneaker “I wanted to create something that reflected my style and at the same time pay homage to my late and great dog, Nico. My first pair of adidas that I owned had snakeskin on them so I wanted to recreate that for my first colorway. Nico is featured on the tongue so he can always be remembered.”
As Ty mentions, this iteration of the Pro Model Vulc ADV features a white python-embossed leather upper with green synthetic leather accents throughout, a colorway that is inspired by the original Stan Smith. Additional details include a grippy Vulcanized rubber sole, an ADIPRENE® combined midsole and sockliner, and a gold foil image of his deceased bulldog on each tongue.
The Tyshawn Jones x adidas Pro Model Vulc ADV will be available at specialty adidas retailers in the U.S. and adidas.com/skateboarding starting September 5 for $95 USD.
Rest in peace, Nico.
