Maggi Created a Collection of Slick Takes on the PUMA Suede for Faces&Laces 2017
PUMA taps a Moscow legend for an official range of custom kicks.
Customization has long been a part of sneaker culture and, to celebrate its DIY spirit, PUMA has called upon Moscow-based legend Maggi to create a range of official custom kicks — all of which are appearing in honor of Faces&Laces 2017. Part of PUMA’s “Experimentarium” theme for the event, the collection takes cues from the Suede, calling upon the brand’s most classic silhouette as Maggi transforms it into a number of modern day hybrids. Here the shoe meets the likes of the Ignite Evoknit, Tsugi Shinsei, and Ignite Netfit for a true combo of the current and the classic. Says Maggi himself:
My favorite PUMA model is the Suede. This is classic. They’ve made a huge contribution to sneaker history. They stood at the roots. They became a legend in street culture even before the concept of street culture itself appeared. My fav one is the very first red with a white Formstripe.
Sadly, you won’t have a chance to cop the kicks — the pairs were each a one-of-one creation made especially for Faces&Laces 2017. If you couldn’t hit up the event last weekend, however, you can at least feast your eyes on the customs above.
