PUMA Revitalizes a Classic With the Clyde Mid Foil
An eye-catching makeover.
When it comes to the battles between the giants of the sportswear and activewear world, PUMA might not be viewed as a top competitor, but the German brand has been picking up the pace in recent years. With superstars like The Weeknd and Rihanna on the roster, PUMA has been fighting its way to the upper echelon of the market in 2017. Now, one of the label’s strongest footwear offerings is being rejuvenated to give the company yet another serious boost.
Continuing to build upon the renowned Clyde sneaker, PUMA follows up last month’s Big Sean-centered Clyde showcase with the introduction of the Clyde Mid Foil. Featuring a revamped upper section, this latest spin on the Clyde shoe gives the classic style a much-needed contemporary makeover. Equipped with high-end leather upper and “basketball-inspired” construction, this one represents a middle ground between casual sportswear and minimal luxury.
Revitalized with two new pairs, the PUMA CLyde Mid Foil comes to us in a simple, clean white and red colorway, and a rich black and white iteration. For both shoes, a PUMA formstripe — red on the white version, white on the black one — is placed directly on the shoe to allow the silhouette a striking, eye-catching visual. Small gold foil branding and the signature PUMA logo are positioned on both versions of the Mid Foil to give the drop a common link.
You can take look at each of the new PUMA Clyde Mid Foil models above, while the shoe itself will be available online and at Footlocker and Finish Line later this month; expect the shoe to carry a $85 USD price tag.
Earlier this month, PUMA unveiled its collaborative sneaker with The Weeknd, the “Parallel” sneaker.
