This Week's Upcoming Sneaker Releases Pit Nike Against adidas

Two giants compete for the end of August.

By //Footwear

Once upon a time, Nike, adidas and other sneaker brands would bless us with releases of coveted sneakers once or twice a month. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for different footwear labels to drop multiple pairs of heat in just one weekend. Making it easier for you to choose whether to cop or drop, we continue our weekly roundup of the silhouettes that will be sought after this week. Check out the list below and chime in on the styles you’ll be picking up.

BILL by Warren Lotas Custom Skull Force Nike Air Force 1

Warren Lotas

Release Date: August 24
Release Price: $350 USD, exclusively on Warren Lotas official website

The DIY wave continues as Warren Lotas presents the Custom Skull Force Nike Air Force 1. Its traditional Swoosh is substituted for a creepy skull, giving the iconic silhouette a new look. You can add this rendition to the many variations of the Air Force 1 we’ve seen over the past few months.

Nike Air Max 1 “Jewel”

Release Date: August 24
Release Price: $140 USD, available at select Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike.com

The iconic “Jewel” iteration returns in two contrasting editions. “Dusty Peach” coloring on its upper rest atop of a white midsole while its complement goes the simpler route as black coloring rests atop of a white midsole along with a Metallic Silver Swoosh. Nike Air branding can be found on both colorways on each respective tongue and heel.

adidas Originals EQT Support RF

Release Date: August 24
Release Price: N/A, available at select adidas Originals locations and online

This adidas EQT silhouette makes its return with a few minor upgrades. Its drop will cater to both men and women as each colorway is dominated by black coloring and is contrasted via its white midsole. A contrasting white stitching pattern is found on each heel portion as a finishing touch.

Nike Flyknit Trainer

Release Date: August 24
Release Price: $150 at select Nike retailers and Nike SNKRS

Nike’s highly anticipated Flyknit Trainer makes its way back to shelves in its famed “Cookies and Cream” colorway and more. “Bright Citron” and “Pale Grey” editions of the running model will drop alongside the unforgettable white/black iteration to complete a trio of tough retail decisions. Do you plan on copping one or all three?

Nike Grand Volee

Nike

Release Date: August 25
Release Price: N/A

The new Nike silhouette makes its debut in a crisp white colorway. Dubbed the Volee, the low-cut model hosts leather along its upper as its Swoosh branding is stitched on its lateral and medial sides. As a complement, you’ll find a light shade of tan on its inner lining.

Sneakersnstuff x adidas Originals EQT “EQT Materials” Pack

Sneakersnstuff

Release Date: August 26
Release Price: $179 USD, available exclusively at Sneakersnstuff locations and online

Sneakersnstuff and adidas Originals come together to deliver a duo of the EQT Support Ultra PK in Dark Blue and White color options. Each incorporate BOOST cushioning in addition to lightweight Primeknit uppers, while utilizing tonal details and avoiding anything too garish.

Air Jordan 8 “Cool Grey”

Nike

Release Price: $190 USD, available via select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike SNKRS

Continuing its “Cool Grey” lineage, the Air Jordan 8 is ushered into a class of elite models such as the Air Jordan 3, 4, 9 and 11. Dual straps help it stand out in addition to its high cut and suede-dominated upper. Could this “Cool Grey” Jordan model be the best of the four?

Nike Air Zoom Generation

Sneaker Politics

Release Date: August 26
Release Price: $175 USD, available via select Nike Basketball retailers and Nike SNKRS

Nike travels back to 2003 to revisit LeBron James’ first signature silhouette. The Hummer-inspired model makes another return following previously “Wheat” and White/Varsity Crimson iterations.
