The Letters Takes Inspiration From U.S. Wardrobes for Its 2017 Fall/Winter Lookbook
One for the Great Outdoors.

Carrying on from the theme of its 2016 fall/winter collection, Japanese label The Letters has taken inspiration once again from clothing staples of the United States. With plaid taking center stage in this season’s offering, designer Yuichi Mukaida has mixed classical and contemporary aesthetics, casual fits and more formal attire — offering tailored jackets and Chesterfield coats in bold checkers and slightly eccentric silhouettes alongside vests and denim with a distinctly utilitarian workwear vibe.
The lookbook marks something of a departure from previous collections’ imagery, shifting from cleaner, black and white photography to grittier shots — encompassing both rural and more industrialized imagery — complimenting the 2017 fall/winter collection’s own blend of aesthetic influence.
With no official release date for the collection just yet, we suggest you keep an eye on The Letters’ web store for updates. For something a little more minimalist, why not take a look at the new lookbook from H&M’s ARKET.
