ALYX's Menswear Collection Debuts a Way to Build an Ethical Closet

ALYX’s founder Matthew Williams recently did an interview with GQ where he talks about his debut men’s collection. Inspired by S&M details, military influence and fine wool tailoring, Williams names his debut mens-only “E. 1999 Eternal” range as a reference to the title of a Bone Thugs-n-Harmony album. Fusing sustainability, thought and a lot of emotion into this series, Williams wants to shrug off the practice of purchasing fast-fashion items that could only be worn for a short amount of time. Contrary to laid-back California, where Williams was born, pieces in the collection are made with upcycled materials and convey emotions — including a T-shirt with bold text, which rounds out Williams’ aspiration for one to express themselves through clothing.

The debut menswear collection will launch next week through the brand’s official website. Meanwhile, check out the ALYX x Vans Collection, which is now available on HBX.
