Leica has unveiled the second instalment in the TL series, with the anticipated TL2 now available for preorder. The new camera is made from a single block of aluminium and comes with a host of new features, including a new 24-megapixel sensor and an improved continuous shooting speed. Other additions include higher quality video and a startup time of just 0.6 seconds, while the autofocus is 3 time’s faster than it was on the first TL. The TL2 also comes with a 3.7-inch touchscreen LCD with 1.3 million pixels, the same as the original, which replaces the viewfinder and controls. Another big announcement is the news of the TL app for iOS and Android, which allows you to use your phone or tablet as a viewfinder and remote control for the TL2.

The TL2 is available for preorder now at $1,950 USD. Head over to the Leica site to find a stockist.

After you’ve had a look at the TL2, check out Leica’s tribute to legendary photographer Jim Marshall, which is also available to preorder now.
