A Look Inside the New Futuristic G-SHOCK London Flagship
The store will pay homage to a longstanding and poignant relationship with London.
G-Shock has returned to the nestled Carnaby Street with a brand new flagship location. Casio’s popular line of watches originally occupied the street in 1998, but closed in February 2010 to open two more London stores. Design agency Double Retail conceptualized and built the new two-story Carnaby St. flagship shop.
In a statement, G-SHOCK said the store “will pay homage to a long standing and poignant relationship. London served as a tough, bold and ambitious backdrop to launch the first ever store, a description true of G-SHOCK’s world famous philosophy and a perfect place for the story to begin.”
Double Retail created a space that showcases G-SHOCK’s extensive product range by enhancing the lighting and display, while featuring concrete wall panelling, a slate floor, and raw hot-rolled steel surfaces. Highlights include a rear enclave that houses G-SHOCK’s premium product line, Mr-G, as well as a back section inspired by a mix of traditional Japanese tea-houses and futuristic sci-fi dystopias.
