James Franco & Seth Rogen Make a Movie About 'The Room,' the Worst Film Ever Made
‘The Disaster Artist’ couldn’t be a more fitting title.
The tag-team of James Franco and Seth Rogen returns in the upcoming motion picture The Disaster Artist. Also joined by Dave Franco and others, the story reflects on the life of filmmaker Tommy Wiseau and his monstrously bad cult film The Room — a melodramatic love triangle between an amiable banker, his deceptive fiancée, and his conflicted best friend. The Franco-directed film is an adaptation of Greg Sestero’s — the actor who played said best friend — award-winning book of the same name, which chronicled the making of Wiseau’s movie as well as his unlikely friendship with the independent filmmaker.
Having made its world premiere at South by Southwest earlier this year to a standing ovation, The Disaster Artist is slated to hit theaters in December 2017.
