Daniel Arsham's adidas Originals New York's Collaboration Has a Secret Message
Arsham brings his archeology-inspired design cues to some Three Stripes footwear.
In addition to working together on a series of short films, American artist Daniel Arsham and adidas Originals have teamed up to create a new version of the brand’s New York silhouette. The sneaker’s design is a shout out to Arsham’s love for archeology, sporting a bone-like color with frayed edges along the tongue and the overlay above the toe box. Made from a light mesh material, the sneaker also features the text “THE PAST IS PRESENT” along the side, which is only visible when placed underneath an ultraviolet light.
The body sits atop a textured white rubber outsole, which is cut sharper around the bottom edges. The sneaker’s design is finished off with matching white laces and metallic spray applied to the aglets.
The Daniel Arsham x adidas Originals New York will be available in extremely limited quantities online on July 22 for $180 USD.
