At the end of Narcos‘ second season, Pablo Escobar is shot by Colombian police. The episode ends with a bit of foreshadowing when Spencer utters, “Agent Peña, how much do you know about the Cali Cartel?” Season three switches storylines and picks up with Escobar’s successors — the Cali Cartel.

In new Narcos teaser, viewers get a glimpse at the infamous rise of the Cali Cartel, which once controlled 90 percent of the world’s cocaine distribution. “To pretend that these guys weren’t just as evil as the guy that came before them, that’s a mistake,” Murphy says in the visual.

Watch the brief teaser above and look for Narcos to return to Netflix on September 1.
