Sony Is Dropping a Limited Edition Gold PlayStation 4
A fancy look for the PS4.

Sony is releasing a limited edition gold PlayStation 4 console, according to retailers Walmart and Target. Images of the golden PS4 recently surfaced on the internet after one Reddit user, Christopher Maxim, posted pictures of the console — on sale — inside of a local Walmart. Maxim mentions that he tried to purchase the limited edition PlayStation, but it caused the store’s registers to lock up. A Walmart manager also told Maxim that the store could be fined if they allowed him to buy it. Other Reddit users chimed in, including one Target employee, who said his store had received a full shipment of the limited edition console. Target and Best Buy ads have confirmed the impending release, and its discounted price. Best Buy is already selling the coinciding DualShock 4 controller.
In 2015, Sony partnered with Taco Bell to give away 6,000 gold PS4 bundles. At the time, the gold PS4 came with one gold DualShock 4 controller and a physical copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
The latest limited edition gold PS4 1TB will be available for $249 USD during the week of June 11. Sony will reportedly officially unveil the new PS4 during its presentation at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017.
