Serena Williams, J.J. Watt and Kyle Schwarber also make an appearance.
It turns out the fuel to victory in this TV spot isn’t Gatorade, it’s defeat. In this commercial entitled “The Secret to Victory,” star athletes ranging from Michael Jordan, Peyton Manning and Serena Williams reveal the toughest setbacks in their careers, and how the experience of defeat propelled them to new heights and memorable victories.
The commercial especially focuses on Matt Ryan and the devastating defeat he and his team faced from the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI. The Atlanta Falcons quarterback has even gone on to say he watched the game film for three straight days immediately following the loss.
