Berthold's 2018 Spring Summer Collection Explores The Intersection of The Military And Masculinity
Inspired by a series of photographs chronicling the lives of child soldiers in Africa.

Raimund Berthold‘s spring/summer 2018 collection culls much of its inspiration from a series of photographs documenting the lives of child soldiers in war-torn regions of Africa like Sierra Leone, Uganda, Liberia and Nigeria. The Austrian-born designer explored this concept through a series of military-inspired looks that incorporated oversized button-down shirts and trenches accessorized with military detailing (think bomber pockets), while a vibrant color palette of canary yellows and cyan blues popped against the backdrop of almost exclusively black garments. To round things out, the looks were complemented by Cutler and Gross sunglasses and Dr. Martens sandals.
