Magikarp Jump Is Pokémon's Latest Mobile Gaming Experience
Magikarp finally does more than splash.
Building off its success last summer with Pokémon GO, The Pokémon Company has just released another mobile gaming app in time for the summer, Magikarp Jump. Focusing on one of the original game’s most frustrating yet rewarding creatures, the new game aims to reintroduce those exact emotions fans once felt decades ago. The purpose of the game as you might’ve guessed from its title is to jump Magikarp against your competition to see who has the highest vertical — a Magikarp combine.
You start off the game with a familiar Old Rod and must make your way through eight leagues while training, feeding and jumping your Magikarp. Everything is done to increase your jumping power (JP) and random encounters along the way can either strengthen or hurt your success. Featuring multiple discoverable and upgradeable extras, fans familiar with Pokémon and newcomers alike will enjoy the quick fun.
