Nike’s Cortez silhouette returned last weekend in white, black and navy and will receive an upcoming Long Beach, California dedicated blue pair for its 45th anniversary celebration. Linked to the LA hip-hop and gang scene for decades, this pair pays tribute to Snoop Dogg’s birthplace and possibly references his affiliation with the Crips.

The sneaker features a royal blue nylon upper with gold accents that include tongue tabs and lacelocks. Additional details include “LBC” stitched in gold on the rear panel, “LONG BEACH” printed on the rear heel tab, the years 1972 and 2017 on the inside of the tongue tabs and “XLV” on the insoles.

The Nike Cortez Basic Nylon Long Beach can be purchased on June 1 on snkrs.com for €90 EUR, about $100 USD.
