Learn How Stone Island Creates Its Signature Dye Technique
Prototype Series 02 reveals the unique craftsmanship of the premium Italian brand.
Premium Italian brand Stone Island is known for its high-performance textiles, unique techniques and refined aesthetic. To highlight the complex experimentation and craftsmanship behind some of its most popular garments, Stone Island has released a second instalment to its “Prototype Research Series” exhibition for Tortona Design Week in Milan, Italy. Previously, Series 01 focused on the label’s reflective textiles; this time, Series 02 zeroes in on how Stone Island applies its famous garment dye to Dyneema, “the strongest and most durable lightweight fibre in the world.” The multi-media installation exhibition showcases 50 different shades of its famous jacket and features mirrored floors and ceilings fitted with monitor displays for a fully-immersive experience.
