'Rick and Morty' and the Art of Trolling McSzechuan Sauce Back Into Reality
“I’m driven by finding that McNugget Sauce!”

Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have spent the better part of a year prepping for the third season of their hit show, Rick and Morty; using small video clips to set the scene for things to come. As one of the best April Fools’ joke to hit the internet this past weekend, Adult Swim dropped the season 3 premier completely unannounced. While the premier perfectly rounded off the events from the previous two seasons, nothing could prepare us for the hype generated around a 19-year-old promotional sauce from McDonald’s.
As part of the marketing campaign for Disney’s 1998 theatrical release of Mulan, McDonald’s created a special Szechuan sauce that was just too delicious to only last a few weeks. For those of you who are too young to have tasted this sauce, you may not understand how special its flavor was, but with the live-action Mulan currently in the works… maybe you will be able to try it after all, all thanks to Rick Sanchez from Earth c-137. Check out the video clips below, and let us know below in the comments if you think the sauce can make a comeback.
