Snoop Dogg Set to Induct Tupac Into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
“A toast to the gangstas.”
Last December, it was announced that Tupac Shakur would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, making him the first solo hip-hop artist to achieve this honor. We’ve now received word that fellow West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg will be the one to induct the late rapper, as confirmed by Rolling Stone. Snoop was featured on Tupac’s “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” track off his All Eyez on Me album back in 1996. Dr. Dre has also reportedly been contacted to perform a rendition of “California Love,” but nothing has been solidified just yet. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 7 in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center, with Journey, Pearl Jam, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra and Joan Baez also joining the induction Class of 2017.
