Aston Martin & Red Bull's Collaborative Hypercar Finally Has a Name
The latest look at the car formerly known as the AM-RB 001.
Originally known as the AM-RB 001, Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing have finally come up with a proper name for their collaborative hypercar and one that goes along with the likes of Vanquish, Vantage, and Vulcan: Valkyrie. Officially unveiled last summer and teased in the new video above, the newly rechristened Valkyrie is a V12 mid-engine two-seater helmed by none other than F1 engineer and longtime McLaren designer Adrian Newey — as well as Aston’s own Marek Reichman and David King — and will be limited to just 175 production models (150 for the road, 25 for the track). The real draw for buyers, however, will be the vehicle’s insane speeds: the Valkyrie can supposedly accelerate from 0 to 200 mph in just 10 seconds and brake from the same speed in as little as 15 seconds.
We’ll see just how well the $3 million USD hypercar performs when it’s officially launched in 2018.
