Nike Resurrects the Sock Racer

Last seen in 2014 as a part of Nike Sportswear’s “Genealogy of Free” pack (which celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Swoosh’s Free technology), the old Sock Racer is set to make an unexpected return later this month in OG form. Originally released back in 1985 and widely considered to be one of Nike’s first experimental takes on typical running silhouettes, the Sock Racer ditches prototypical lacing in favor of two adjustable straps for its slip-on nylon and polyester upper. As per usual, a low-profile, flexible sole unit and full-length air cushioning join the lightweight construction.

Opting for a spin on the shoe’s original colorway, the predominately black Sock Racer will hit NSW spots like END. on Saturday, March 11.
