The Future of Footwear Is Imagined With This Y-3 and ACRONYM Winter Boot Concept
Utilizing an angular shape for functionality.
Industrial and product design student David Olivares wanted to create a footwear model that’s not only stylish but also built strong enough to withstand the toughest conditions. His solution to combining both is the “Y-A FUYU HIGH,” a rugged concept sneaker-boot hybrid that brings together the Y-3 and ACRONYM brands.
His vision for the project is building a shoe with an angular shape. The traditional rounded look of classic footwear is done away with and this one uses a multi-layered system to convey protectivity. Additionally, there are functional hold-down straps, rugged outsoles, clip-style closures and what looks to be boost technology. The white and light grey exterior is also a fine finish to this winter-ready product.
