Today, the Los Angeles Lakers will be honoring Kobe Bryant as the team will retire both his number 8 and 24 jerseys. Nike will take the celebration a step further with the launch of a special “Black Mamba” Air Force 1 in addition to a selection of T-shirts. The Swoosh has picked the sneaker’s low iteration to welcome a special snakeskin-like upper to carry on its “Black Mamba” aesthetic. In addition, you’ll find a drop shadow Swoosh design to add a little flair while Bryant’s 8 and 24 numbers are added to the left and right heel respectively. As you move onto the tongue, Nike adds eight stars to each sneaker as a nod to the total of titles won by the Lakers.

A trio of T-shirts also commemorates Bryant’s NBA success and will launch at 8:24 p.m. PST on nike.com and will also be available at select Nike retailers in LA.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium iD “Black Mamba” will launch via nike.com at tipoff of tonight’s game as the Lakers take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. PST.
