Facebook Rolls Out Facial Recognition
Facebook takes its namesake seriously.

Facebook announced in a blog post that it will be rolling out numerous facial recognition features for the platform in an attempt to protect users from privacy attacks. With your permission, Facebook takes face data from you and allows access to new tools, including alerts if photos of you are uploaded, even if you’re not tagged.
The company has described the feature as being comparable to “a simple on/off switch.” This update is predominantly aimed at preventing catfishing, fake profiles and “revenge porn” attacks. As part of this announcement, Facebook published a blog post titled “Hard Questions: Should I Be Afraid of Face Recognition Technology?” Check out the video below and let us know if you will utilize the new feature anytime soon.
