Ignasi Monreal is recognized for creating digital paintings of fantastical creatures and landscapes. Gucci recently commissioned the Spanish artist and illustrator to helm its Spring/Summer 2018 campaign. Titled “Utopian Fantasy,” Monreal’s striking batch of imagery is a cocktail of Victorian Era and modern-day motifs with haunting backdrops. Pieces highlighted in the digital artworks include pared-down suiting, graphic crewneck sweatshirts, patriotic tracksuits, and the famous double G logo slapped on a variety of silhouettes.
