Twitch Launches Reality TV Show "Stream On" to Help Budding Streamers
If you ever thought about becoming a full-time video game streamer, here’s your chance.
Twitch announces new reality show Stream On with hopes of helping budding streamers transition their hobby into a full-time career. Even with the pressing competition from the likes of Microsoft and YouTube, Twitch has continued to separate itself through diversification, resulting in an exponential increase in users.
Its newest venture structures itself around the already lucrative live video game streaming phenomenon. Using its already established infrastructure, Twitch will suture a voting system and challenges into the service wherein a weekly elimination, at Twitch Studios, viewers will vote to save their favorites from being knocked out. $60,000 USD ($5,000 USD for 12 months) is at stake for one of the 25,000 partners, but it requires more than exceptional gameplay: you need to be competitive, have personality and be entertaining to go far in this competition.
