AMBUSH designer and rapper Verbal recently met up with Josh Luber of StockX to co-host the latest episode of StockX TV. With his tight relationship alongside fellow artist Pharrell Williams, the duo discuss the success of Pharrell’s collaborative projects with adidas Originals — the original NMDs, as reported by Luber, all command resell prices of upwards of $1200 USD. The latest editions are slowly climbing in value as well, with the BBC-exclusive “CUERPO” “TERRE” cotton candy pair well above $1500 USD and the N.E.R.D. editions — which Verbal states he missed out on — currently priced at $5500 USD. He did, however, receive a Friends & Family pair that was waiting for him at home.
Besides sneakers, StockX examines the rarity of custom kicks that were featured at this year’s Complexcon, along with an exclusive interview with JBF Customs founder Jake Ferrato on his one-of-one Air Jordan 1s that were given away to guests of the StockX booth. Details of the customs included NBA jerseys and actual basketball leather, along with Jake’s confession that the customs took up to 40 hours of hand-made construction.
