PUMA Celebrates Suede's 50th Anniversary With Rudolf Dassler-Inspired Colorway
A tribute to the label’s founder.

2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic PUMA Suede, and to celebrate, the German footwear imprint has tapped back into its history and released a special edition colorway inspired by PUMA founder Rudolf Dassler.
This commemorative edition draws from the original colorway of the silhouette, which results in a clean and simple look comprised of a black suede upper, a contrasting off-white suede logo stripe, a white midsole and the signature gold foil PUMA Suede branding. Other special details include luxe leather lining and the vintage ’50s PUMA logo at the tongue tab and heel embroidery. This 50th anniversary Suede also comes in special edition box and is accompanied by a thematic black leather and tan suede backpack.
This pair is slated to hit PUMA Japan on November 16 — stay tuned for more details and a potential stateside release. For more throwback goods, PUMA paid tribute to classic hip-hop culture in its recent “B-Boy” capsule.
