'Ghost of Tsushima' Trailer Presents a New Open-World Samurai Title
From Sucker Punch Production.
Sony announced a new IP from acclaimed developer Sucker Punch (Sly Cooper & Infamous franchise) entitled Ghost of Tsushima. The trailer above debuted today during Paris Games Week 2017 and it displays an open-world game set during the feudal era in Japan. Players control a samurai, who is greeted by Mongols that are capturing and burning villages to the ground, with one of the invaders asking the samurai to surrender.
Here’s the synopsis from Sony:
The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan — until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But, honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting — the way of the Ghost — as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.
The title is poised to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Watch the visuals above and share your thoughts in the comments below.
