Cristiano Ronaldo Named Best Player in the World by FIFA
Ballon d’Or in December.

The year-long debate of Messi or Ronaldo finally came to an end last night, at least momentarily, when FIFA awarded Cristiano with his second straight Player of the Year Award in London. The Real Madrid star and captain of Portugal’s national team scored 44 goals in 48 appearances in 2017, 33 of which came for his Champions League winning Los Blancos.
This is Ronaldo’s fifth time winning the award, tying his fierce rival Lionel Messi. The tie won’t last for long however, as the 2017 Ballon d’Or, which is no longer associated with the FIFA Awards, will be announced on December 5.
