After working with Dutch label Patta on a GEL-Mai collaboration, ASICS has now teamed up with Australian retailer Highs and Lows for another take on the silhouette. The “Submariner” sneaker incorporates naval influences, with a stealth-inspired colorway and references to morse code and nautical imagery also featuring.

The sneaker comes with a leather and suede upper in “Dark Navy” and “Slate Blue.” Other touches include a heather neoprene overlay across the lateral side and micro-ripstop overlay along the medial. The sneaker also features hidden touches including a raised morse code print across the tongue’s taping — reading HAL — and imagery on the inner sole which references the sea.

The “Submariner” GEL-Mai is set to drop via the Highs and Lows web store and physical locations on October 14. Until then, take a look at LA-based UNRTD’s recent take on ASICS’ GEL-Diablo silhouette.
