LA-based designer Ibrahim Mimou launched OPEN NINE FIVE as a passion project for his favorite design-oriented pieces, whether created or curated by himself. Injected with elements of Mimou’s Syrian ancestry, the label’s design DNA is hardwired with the spirit of Los Angeles — the city has become an incubator for emerging contemporary styles.
This month the brand presents a first preview of its 2017 spring/summer collection. The loose-fitting silhouettes are extremely versatile and designed with the highest attention to detail. Modeled by Atlanta rapper OG Maco, the range includes dark-hued pieces that come in a rich green, black and gray color palette. The pastel-pink suede jacket is a clear standout and gives the whole collection a much-needed color lift.
